We welcome back once again, for their last concert in this season, the Allegri Singers, where the group shall perform items representing the four seasons by Bax, Britten, Finzi, Hall, Stanford Vaughan Williams and Whitacre, including Britten’s ‘Five Flower Songs’, Vaughan Williams’ ‘The Springtime of the year’ and Whitacre’s setting of E. E. Cummings’ ‘I Thank You God’, along with Stanford’s expansive setting of the Magnificat for Double Choir.

St Barnabas is delighted to welcome Papagena for their debut performance at St. Barnabas. Papagena, an all female cappella group, draw richly on traditional sources, juxtaposing with more classical repertoire from Kassia and Hildegard of Bingen to Katy Perry and Imogen Heap. Members of Papagena have all performed with some of the UK’s leading vocal groups including The Sixteen, Tenebrae, Ex Cathedra and The BBC Singers and share a passion for bringing a wider range of music from around the world to your doorstep. Performing for their fans, members of the locality and you, their early summer concert will enchant you with Mendelssohn’s A Midnight Summer’s Dream Overture. If that were not enough, ‘SELO’ will perform Rodrigo’s acclaimed Concierto de Aranjuez for the first time at St. Barnabas, topping off an afternoon you’ll want to remember with Beethoven’s Fourth.

South East London Orchestra

The Elm Singers Summer Concert – Friday May 13, 7.30pm

On Friday 13 March at 7.30pm, the Elm Singers under their director John Webber present their Summer Concert, including sacred and secular music by Purcell, E J Moeran, Matyas Seiber, Vaughan Williams, Byrd and Morley. The Concert features Guest Soloist Laura Corbin (Flute).
